Representatives of the Faculty of History Attend Reception Celebrating the National Anniversaries of the Republic of Korea
On October 9, 2026, a formal reception was held in Astana to celebrate the 4,358th anniversary of the founding of Korea and the 78th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Korea. At the invitation of the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kazakhstan, Jeong Ki-hong, and his wife, Chu Jeong-won, the event was attended by Asel Zhanatovna Myrzakhmetova and Igor Dmitrievich Khlebnikov, members of the Faculty of History.

Cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea encompasses the fields of economics, science, education, and culture. Academic exchanges, joint research projects, and collaboration between universities play a particularly important role in strengthening bilateral relations.

The Korean diaspora in Kazakhstan serves as an important bridge between the two countries, fostering mutual understanding and preserving cultural ties. Studying the history of Koreans in Kazakhstan, including the events of deportation and their subsequent integration into Kazakhstani society, helps preserve historical memory and expand academic dialogue.

The participation of researchers in such events creates additional opportunities for the development of scientific and cultural cooperation.
