Institute of Molecular Nanophotonics

Institute of Molecular Nanophotonics was opened by order of the rector of the KSU № 363 of 21.04.2008 to conduct fundamental and applied research in the field of nanotechnology, condensed matter physics, and chemical physics.

The structure of the institute includes 12 laboratories.

The main scientific direction is the study of photoinduced processes in functional nanostructured materials.

The Scientific - Research Institute of Chemical Issues was organized by the order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 248 of March 25, 2000 in order to integrate science, education and production. Laboratory of engineering profile "Physic-chemical methods of research"

Laboratory of engineering profile "Physico-chemical methods of research" was organized at the E.A. Buketov KSU in accordance with the order of the Chairman of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 58 of April 3, 2008, by the order of the Rector No. 156 of February 12, 2009.

The laboratory is a structural subdivision of the Karaganda Buketov University. The laboratory of physico-chemical research methods, equipped with modern instruments for chromatographic and spectral analysis, contributes to an increase in the level of performance of diploma theses, master's and PhD theses, research works of teaching staff and students of KBU. Highly qualified laboratory staff ensures the proper level of analysis performance. Experts provide advisory assistance to students in developing a method for solving a specific research problem. Master’s and doctoral students have the opportunity to observe the progress of the analyzes, while gaining an idea of the sample preparation methods and work with instruments for spectral and chromatographic analysis.

The scientific direction is carrying out physico-chemical analyzes of a wide range of objects at the modern scientific level, performing fundamental and applied research works..

Research Laboratory "Applied Mechanics and Robotics"

The laboratory has been operating since 2016. Initially, the main focus of the laboratory's work was on designing and assembling unmanned aerial vehicles with the required functional features. A line of unmanned aerial vehicles was developed in the laboratory, including a glider, two hexacopters, a quadcopter, and a foldable quadcopter. The research laboratory develops the following areas: - development of a geospatial database for pile foundation construction; - study of kinematics, dynamics, and motion simulation of new tripod-type parallel robots; - development and research of neural machine translation methods for low-resource languages; - artificial intelligence and neural networks. In addition, the laboratory conducts joint research with the Biology-Geography Faculty on the effect of magnetic fields on plant growth and the automation of hydroponic installations, and with the Physics-Technical Faculty on the properties of thermal insulation materials. The research laboratory "Applied Mechanics and Robotics" provides training for master's students in the educational programs "Mechanics" and "Information Systems and Technologies." In the "Applied Mechanics and Robotics" laboratory, the following projects are being implemented under grant and program-targeted funding for 2024–2026: 1. Grant project "Artificial intelligence technologies for implementing adaptive personalized learning in higher education" (project leader – Senior Researcher Kazimova D.A.) 2. "Zhas Galym" project "Improved method for calculating bending and free vibrations of functionally graded beams on an elastic foundation" (project leader – Nurgozieva A.Zh., scientific consultant – S.B. Akhazhanov).

 

Scientific-research institute of legal research and state studies

In accordance with the order of the rector of the E.A. Buketov Karaganda State University of 03.09.2013 on the basis of the laboratory "State and legal research" at the Law Faculty Scientific-research institute of legal research and state studies was opened.

The main scientific direction is research of fundamental scientific-theoretical, scientific-educational and applied researches in the sphere of legal sciences and jurisprudence and in the sphere of national-legal system of the state

Objective: to contribute to the legal science development in modern conditions within the framework of education innovative development.

Institute of digital economy research

The Institute of Digital Economy Research was previously known as the Institute of Market Relations, which was opened in 1981 as a branch of the Institute of Economics of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR.

- 2020 - Based on the Order of the Rector of E.A. Buketov KSU Institute of Market Relations was renamed to the Institute of Digital Economy Research. The Institute of Digital Economy Research is a scientific division of the university in the field of economic, social and humanitarian sciences.

The purpose of the Institute's activities is to conduct fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of economics, aimed at solving urgent problems of the socio-economic development of the region.

The tasks of the Institute:

The Institute participates in the implementation of scientific research on state and industry programs, carries out marketing research for customers of various levels.

In the period from 2015 to 2020, the Institute carried out grant projects funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

As part of the joint activities of the Institute and the Marketing Department, the project of Karaganda University and Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg is being implemented on the topic "GeКavoc - Transfer of dual education programs in logistics, mechatronics and sustainable energy supply to Kazakhstan."

Currently, a grant project is being carried out on the topic "Development of urban tourist routes in Central Kazakhstan based on the use of smart technologies in the digitalization of tourism", funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2021-2023.

Under the scientific supervision of the Institute's employees, students, master’s students of the university became Grand Prix winners, prize-winners, laureates of various international and republican forums, scientific competitions, conferences, and Olympiads.

The Institute of Digital Economy Research participates in the organization and holding of scientific and practical conferences at various levels on topical issues of economic development. By the order of the rector of KSU of 27.10.2010 №2154 for the study and publication of spiritual values and works of folk poets and orators, the Institute for the Study of the Spiritual Heritage of the Kazakh People was opened.

The main scientific direction - is the study of language, its history, literary theory and the study of folk heritage.

Saryarka Archaeological Institute

Saryarka Archaeological Institute at the Non-profit joint-stock company Karaganda Buketov University was formed in 2003 on the basis of the Department of Archeology of Central Kazakhstan. Current projects: 

1. Project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2022-2024 « Identification of visual cultural diagnostic markers of stone mounds of the early Iron Age and the Middle Ages in Central Kazakhstan» (supervisor is A.I. Kukushkin). 

The project implementation consists of studying the regionally relevant problem of identifying external markers of cultural identification of a widespread type of structures - stone uncovered burial mounds, which, according to the results of a number of field studies, contain both burials of the early Iron Age and the Middle Ages, covering the period of the 1st millennium BC - 1st millennium AD. The implementation of the declared project through fairly large-scale excavations (at least 30 structures in 3 years) will allow obtaining a sufficient factual basis for a positive solution to the issue of identifying external (visual) markers of differences in architectural plan, spatial localization and planigraphy, as well as accumulating new materials on the culture of the nomads of Central Kazakhstan. 

2. Project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2022-2024 «The transition from the Bronze Age to the Early Iron Age on the territory of Saryarka: identifying the specifics of the cultural complex» (supervisor is V.G. Loman). 

The formation of transitional complexes is associated with a change in the natural and climatic situation in the steppe zone of Kazakhstan at the turn of the II-I millennia BC, the search and development of new areas of economic activity, the restructuring of the economy and the beginning of iron development. Based on materials of the Dongal type, a clear genetic connection can be traced between the cultures of the Final Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age. The task of finding and substantiating this connection is one of the most important ones for archaeology. 

3. Project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2025 «Reconstruction of cultural and historical landscapes of ancient Betpakdala» (supervisor is M.V. Bedelbayeva). 

The project is aimed at studying the cultural and historical landscapes of little-explored locations in Betpakdala. The peculiar low-relief Betpakdala plateau is a desert space stretching from the western coast of Lake Balkhash to the lower reaches of Sarysu. In the south it is limited by the valley of the middle and lower reaches of the Shu River. In the north - by high and dissected massifs of the Kazakh hillocks. Traditional environmental management in the conditions of semi-desert territory and arid climate was difficult. Nevertheless, this region was included in the economic cycle of the population since ancient times, as directly evidenced by the caravan routes connecting Central and Southern Kazakhstan. During scientific expeditions, archaeological sites were discovered confirming the human development of these territories, poorly adapted for life. However, there are significant territorial disparities in archaeological research. Part of Northern Betpakdalawas quite well explored by archaeological expeditions, however, the territory from Karazhal to Priozersk today represents a kind of “blank spot”: no more than ten monuments are indicated on the archaeological map, and only three objects are included on the map of immovable monuments of material culture of Central Kazakhstan (winterings of the XVII-XVIII centuries). 

Center of Еthnocultural and Historical-Anthropological Research

Center of Ethnocultural and Historical - Anthropological Research of Karaganda Buketov University was opened by the order of the rector of KSU №41 of 12.01.2011 on the basis of educational and research laboratory "Ethno-cultural research" for fundamental and applied research in the field of ethno-cultural and historical-anthropological, toponymic, regional, local history researches.

Scientific laboratory of organic semiconductor chemistry

Scientific Laboratory of Organic Semiconductor Chemistry was opened by the order of the Rector of Karaganda University named after E.A.Buketov № 962 from August 28, 2024 to conduct fundamental and applied research in the field of organic semiconductors, organic electronics and photonics.

The main scientific direction is molecular design and synthesis of advanced conjugated organic semiconductors for organic electronics and photonics.

Purpose:

–Synthesis of new advanced organic semiconductors based on azulene and diphenylaniline chemistry possessing high mobility of charge carriers, efficient luminescence, good processability from solutions, oxidative and thermal stability and other properties for application in organic electronics and photonics devices.

Objectives:

  • Carrying out molecular design of azulene organic semiconductors of donor-acceptor, linear and divergent structure;

  • Synthesis of a representative series of azulene organic semiconductors of donor-acceptor, linear and divergent structure;

  • Investigation of optical, electrochemical and electrophysical properties as well as oxidative and thermal stability of azulene organic semiconductors;

Socio-psychological research laboratory

In accordance with the Rector's order No. 1605 dated 12/13/2023, a socio-psychological research laboratory was established on the basis of the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology. The purpose of the laboratory is to conduct fundamental and applied scientific research from the standpoint of an interdisciplinary approach in the field of studying psychological, socio–political and philosophical problems of modern Kazakh society and personality. Laboratory tasks: organization and conduct of experimental and innovative activities aimed at the implementation and implementation of research results in the organization; development and implementation of new technologies in the education system aimed at the formation of socio-humanitarian competencies of participants in the educational process; organization of cooperation with other organizations and coordination of scientific and practical activities in the field of development, creation, verification and implementation of new tools, methods and forms of work; provision of scientific and methodological, educational, information and other services to educational and other organizations and citizens on issues within the competence of the laboratory; conducting scientific and practical activities in the areas of the laboratory's activities. Resource Center for Inclusive and Special Education

The purpose of the Center – is scientific-methodological support of the process of inclusive and special education in the region.

The main tasks of the Center:

organizing and conducting monitoring studies to identify the conditions for the implementation of inclusive and special education;

implementation of research, scientific - methodological and educational - methodological developments in the field of inclusive and special education;

dissemination and implementation of research results in the educational process of educational institutions that implement the practice of inclusive and special education.
