OUTCOMES OF THE FACULTY MEMBERS’ RESEARCH INTERNSHIP IN POLAND

On September 19, 2026, Academician E.A. Buketov Karaganda National Research University hosted a reporting meeting dedicated to the results of a research internship undertaken by university faculty members at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. The internship took place from August 30 to September 13, 2026.
The development of science and the strengthening of the country’s scientific potential are among the priorities of state policy. President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev places particular emphasis on supporting national science, developing scientific schools, and creating favorable conditions for research.
N.O. Dulatbekov, a member of the National Kurultai who attended the event, emphasized the importance of maintaining this course and consistently supporting the scientific community:
“Universities play a special role in building the country’s scientific potential. Therefore, it is important to create favorable conditions for research, support scientific schools, and ensure continuity between generations of researchers.”
The internship program brought together 10 faculty members from the Faculties of Physics and Technology, Chemistry, and History, as well as the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology.
As part of the program, the participants explored modern research and educational practices at Adam Mickiewicz University, visited specialized departments and laboratories, and took part in scientific conferences, seminars, and working meetings with Polish colleagues.
Key outcomes of the internship
Strengthened international scientific cooperation.
Four cooperation agreements were signed with an international professor who will serve as a research consultant for four PhD students from the Faculty of Physics and Technology.
Acquired modern research methodologies.
Participants gained practical experience in applying spectroscopic and X-ray diffraction methods to the study of nanomaterials, polymer systems, and functional materials.
Expanded research resources and capabilities.
Archival and historiographical research was conducted in Poznań and Warsaw. Participants examined archival collections and explored modern digital resources for locating and analyzing historical sources.
Gained international professional experience.
Faculty members became familiar with contemporary approaches in psychology, language education, the humanities, and natural sciences, including research on digital psychological well-being and human–AI interaction.
Established new academic and research connections.
Professional contacts were established with researchers at Adam Mickiewicz University. The participants discussed prospects for joint research projects, international publications, academic mobility, and further cooperation within the Erasmus+ program.
The knowledge, practical experience, and agreements achieved during the internship will be incorporated into the university faculty members’ future research and educational activities.
The research internship marked an important milestone in the development of international cooperation between Academician E.A. Buketov Karaganda National Research University and Adam Mickiewicz University, opening new opportunities for joint research projects, academic mobility, and the strengthening of long-term academic partnerships.
