“READING NATION” – AN INITIATIVE TO PROMOTE A READING CULTURE

Today, an information meeting dedicated to the national project “Reading Nation” was held at Buketov National University.

The meeting was conducted by S. Mubarak, Director of the Department for Social Affairs and Youth Policy of the University.

Ardana Myrzanova, Deputy Head of the Youth Center, also attended the meeting. She provided students with detailed information about the project, its objectives and participation requirements. The participants discussed ways to increase young people’s interest in books, foster a reading culture and broaden their horizons through literature.

Particular attention was paid to the role of reading in developing critical thinking, broadening horizons, enriching vocabulary and shaping an independent perspective.

The meeting was held in an open dialogue format. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, share their opinions and discuss the importance of reading in everyday life.

An interest in books is the foundation of the pursuit of knowledge, while regular reading is an essential part of lifelong learning and personal development. Such meetings contribute to fostering a reading culture among young people and demonstrate that books can serve as an important tool for gaining knowledge and developing one’s personality.
