MODERN INSTITUTE OF PUNISHMENT: THE EXPERIENCE OF KAZAKHSTAN AND KYRGYZSTAN

A guest lecture dedicated to current issues in the field of law was held at Karaganda Buketov National Research University.

The special guest of the meeting was Nazira Eshmukhammedovna Abdukarimova, Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology at the Law Institute of Kyrgyz National University named after Zh. Balasagyn, Doctor of Law.

During the lecture, the experience of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in the field of criminology was examined.

Particular attention was paid to modern approaches to the development of the institution of punishment, changes in criminal policy, the humanization of punishment, and the use of alternatives to imprisonment.

The participants also conducted a comparative analysis of the legal practices of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Modern approaches in criminal law and the importance of international experience were discussed separately.

The guest lecture provided a valuable platform for professional exchange and gave students and faculty an opportunity to learn more about the academic and legal practices of the two countries.
