SCIENCE WITHOUT BORDERS: NEW DIRECTIONS IN INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC COOPERATION

As part of the international research internship of employees of Karaganda Buketov University at Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznań), participants continue to explore research units, current scientific areas, and opportunities for international collaboration.

Nanotechnology and Functional Materials

Particular attention was paid to the NanoBioMedical Centre (CNBM) and the Laboratory of Functional Materials, headed by Prof. dr hab. Igor Iatsunskyi.

Participants learned about research in nanotechnology, materials science, biotechnology, and nanobiomedicine, including the development and functionalization of nanostructures, the study of their optical, electrical, and biological properties, and the application of nanomaterials in sensing, medicine, and energy.

The discussions involved dr hab., prof. UAM Olena Ivashchenko, dr hab. Bartosz Grześkowiak, dr Patryk Florczak, dr Karol Załęski, and dr Tomasz Szymański.

Modern Research Methods in Psychology

Representatives of the Department of Psychology visited the Qualitative and Mixed Methods in Clinical Psychology Research Lab and the Psychophysiology Lab: Gaming & Streaming, where they met with researchers.

The meeting focused on modern approaches to experimental research, data collection and analysis, statistical power, and the reliability of research findings.

Languages, Multilingualism and Education

A representative of the Faculty of Foreign Languages participated in The 14th International Conference on Third Language Acquisition and Multilingualism, held on September 2–5 and dedicated to current research in third language acquisition, multilingualism, and language education.

The international conference provided an opportunity to discuss current research issues in these fields and expand international academic ties.

History and Research Resources

A representative of the Faculty of History visited the Faculty of History, Collegium Historicum UAM, where meetings were held with the Dean, Prof. Lucyna Błażejczyk-Majka, and library staff.

The visit included an introduction to library collections, electronic databases, and research resources, as well as discussions on economic history and the history of miners in Poland.

The academic programme also included participation in events of the XXI World Congress of UISPP, including a lecture by Prof. Nicholas Conard from the University of Tübingen.

Scientific Cooperation – New Opportunities

The scientific meetings, laboratory and library visits, academic discussions, and access to research resources contribute to expanding professional competencies, strengthening international academic ties, and identifying promising areas for further cooperation between Karaganda Buketov University and Adam Mickiewicz University.

Strengthening cooperation between Karaganda Buketov University and Adam Mickiewicz University is an important step towards combining the scientific potential of the two universities and creating new opportunities for joint research and academic initiatives.
