GUEST LECTURES BY PROFESSOR HANS-JOACHIM SCHRAMM (GERMANY)
As part of the university’s program to invite international scholars to Karaganda National Research University named after Academician E.A. Buketov, Professor Hans-Joachim Schramm of Wismar University of Applied Sciences (Germany) is delivering a series of online guest lectures from September 21 to November 22, 2026, on the topic “Modern Legal Education and the Methodology of Legal Decision-Making: The German Experience.”

Hans-Joachim Schramm is a Professor at Wismar University of Applied Sciences (Germany). In 1989, he passed his First State Examination in Law at Saarland University, and in 1992, he passed his Second State Examination in Law in Düsseldorf.

In 1998, he completed his doctoral dissertation entitled “Russian Capital Market Law” at the University of Cologne. From 2000 to 2008, he completed his habilitation at the University of Bremen on the topic “Corporate Law in Transition Countries.”

Since 2012, Professor Hans-Joachim Schramm has been working at Wismar University of Applied Sciences.

His main teaching and research areas include:

Contract law;
Corporate law;
Private international law;
Enforcement proceedings;
Insolvency and bankruptcy law;
Information technology law;
Legal regulation of international commercial transactions.
In addition, Professor Hans-Joachim Schramm is the Head of the Master’s program “German and International Economic Law” at Wismar University of Applied Sciences and has extensive experience in international academic and expert activities.

The lecture series focuses on the German legal education system, methodologies for substantiating and making legal decisions, methods of interpreting legal norms, the impact of the allocation of the burden of proof on the structure of legal decisions, the role of judges in the development of law, as well as practice-oriented approaches to legal education and training.

Guest lectures by international scholars contribute to expanding international academic cooperation, facilitating the exchange of research expertise, and familiarizing students and faculty members with modern approaches to legal education and law enforcement practices.
