Each year, not only the number of Foundation program participants but also the range of countries they come from continues to expand. This year, 180 students are enrolled in the preparatory program, 85 of whom are studying on educational grants. The participants have arrived from China, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.
The education of young people from different countries at one university reflects the strengthening of the university’s international environment. Representatives of different cultures and traditions have the opportunity to study in a shared educational environment, exchange experiences, and build new friendships.
The Foundation program began on October 1. Moving to a new country, adapting to a new environment, and getting to know a new community are important stages, especially for young people who have left their home countries for the first time. Therefore, having the opportunity to receive the necessary support from the university from the very first days is an important part of the educational process.
Assel Meiramkyzy, a specialist at the Psychological Support Center, told the participants about the center’s activities and its main areas of work. She also explained in which situations students can seek assistance from specialists. In addition, the participants had an opportunity to ask questions and receive the information they needed.
The Foundation Preparatory Department at KarNU has been preparing young people who intend to enroll in higher education institutions in Kazakhstan for almost 30 years. Today, this tradition continues with a new generation of students arriving from different parts of the world.
The Foundation program is an important stage for participants, helping them adapt to a new environment, confidently take the next step in their educational journey, and become an active part of university life.
