DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS AND INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

History:

The Department "Economics and International Business" was founded in 1993 on the basis of the departments "Economic Geography and Industrial Economies "(from 1978 to 1989), "Economics and Planning of Industries and territories" (from 1989 to 1993). In 2011, it was merged with the Department "Economic Theory».

Students:

The department trains 216 people, including holders of state grants, the Altyn Belgi symbol, representatives of other regions of Kazakhstan, citizens of Uzbekistan, Russia.

Employment opportunities:

The employment rate of graduates of the department is 95%.

Teachers:

The department employs doctors, candidates, masters of Science, practitioners with extensive work experience. PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Asanova M.K. completed a scientific internship at Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh, UK) under the Bolashak-500 Scientists program.

Dissertation Council:

The department has a dissertation council for the defense of dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy PhD in the program 8D04101-Economics.

Scientific activity:

The Department of Economics and International Business plays a key role in the development of scientific research and educational activities aimed at in-depth study of various aspects of economics and international business. The main areas of work of the department cover the study of the institutional foundations of ensuring the competitiveness of the economy of Kazakhstan, the analysis of socio-economic problems, the development of entrepreneurship, the study of macro- and microeconomic processes, international trade, as well as the introduction of innovative technologies and digitalization of business processes.

The department actively cooperates with various public and private structures, developing projects aimed at supporting economic growth and modernizing the business environment. Teachers and students of the department take an active part in the creation of new business models, explore international economic trends and develop solutions that can be adapted to the dynamically developing economy of Kazakhstan. In addition, the department pays special attention to the analysis of global economic changes, which helps students and scientists to better understand current trends and challenges of international business.

One of the important activities of the department is the holding of scientific conferences and seminars that promote the exchange of knowledge and experience between scientists and practitioners at both national and international levels. Within the framework of these events, topical issues of economics, innovation and digital technologies are discussed, which allows to broaden the horizons of participants and contribute to the development of scientific thought.

The results of scientific research of the department are published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, which confirms the high level of academic work. These publications cover a wide range of topics, from theoretical research in the field of international business to practical solutions in the field of improving the competitiveness of Kazakhstani enterprises. Students are also involved in scientific research, participate in projects and present their work at regional and international conferences, which allows them to develop their professional skills and build successful careers in the future.

One of the key aspects of the activity is the systematic invitation of foreign lecturers. Experts from various countries conduct lectures and master classes, sharing their experiences and discussing topical issues of the global economy and business. This allows students and teachers of the department to get acquainted with international practices and approaches, which contributes to a deeper understanding of global processes and integration into the global economic space. International cooperation significantly strengthens the educational programs of the department, allowing to train highly qualified specialists.

Thus, the Department of Economics and International Business not only actively contributes to the development of scientific thought and innovation, but also plays an important role in the training of highly qualified specialists who are able to work effectively in the global economy and digital business transformation.
