DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF SPECIAL AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

History:

The department was founded in 1984 at the Karaganda Pedagogical Institute , the second in Kazakhstan for the training of defectologists. Later it was expanded by the defectological faculty. The first head and founder of the Department of Oligophrenopedagogy is Academician of the International Academy of Sciences of Higher Education, Professor, Doctor of Psychology, Namazbayeva Zh.I. Over the years, the department was headed by leading scientists: Candidate of Medical Sciences, docent Duplyakin A.G.; Candidate of Medical Sciences, docent Shishkanov V.V.; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences  Akhtaeva M., Candidate of Medical Sciences Kispaeva Zh.K., Krasnikova N.A.; Candidate of Geological Sciences, Professor Dzhusupov S.I.; Candidate of Medical Sciences, Professor Akhmetova N.Sh., Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Kolesnikova L.V.; Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Tebenova K.S.; Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Alshynbekova G.K. Since 2022 - PhD, Associate Professor Rymkhanova A.R.

Since 2005, the educational program “Defectology” has been opened at the master's level.

Since 2022, the educational program “Special Pedagogy” at the undergraduate level has been opened.

Since 2021, the Resource Center for Inclusive Education has been opened as a structural unit of the university to support students with special educational needs. The Center also provides scientific and methodological support for inclusive practice in the region, provides correctional and educational services.

Since 2022, the educational program “Special Pedagogy” has been opened at the undergraduate level.

Since 2023, the educational program “Speech Therapy” has been opened in the master’s program.

Teaching staff:

The teaching staff of the department consists of more than thirty teachers - doctors , candidates of sciences , doctors of philosophy and masters of sciences . Among them are the holders of the republican title “The best teacher of the university” , academician and corresponding members of various academies, holders of nominal prizes and scholarships.

Students:

The contingent of students in educational programs tends to be stable growth.

Employability:

Graduate Employment Rate for Educational Programs annually ranges from 70 % to 85 %, which indicates the demand for personnel .
