DEPARTMENT OF ALGEBRA, MATHEMATICAL LOGIC, AND GEOMETRY NAMED AFTER PROF. T.G. MUSTAFIN

The Department of Algebra, Mathematical Logic and Geometry named after Professor T. G. Mustafin provides a wide range of educational services aimed at training specialists in theoretical mechanics, fluid and gas mechanics, theory of mechanisms and machines, as well as mechanics of deformable solids. All educational areas of the Department are supported by modern laboratory facilities. The Department offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs. Master’s programs include a research training module. The doctoral program is focused on preparing academic and research staff and on conducting original research with results published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Graduates of the Department can work in educational institutions, research-and-production and industrial organizations; with a Master’s and PhD degree, they can also teach at higher education institutions and pursue research activities. The Department’s research interests include studies in model theory, structural mechanics, mechanics of deformable solids, theory of elasticity and plasticity, soil mechanics and foundations, as well as the design of robotic systems and mechatronic complexes.
