Welcome to the Department of Theory and Methods of Foreign Language Training!
The Department of Theory and Methodology of Foreign Language Training provides training for specialists in English, German, French, Turkish, and Chinese as foreign languages and offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degree programs.
Students of the department have the opportunity to study various language combinations: English/German, English/French, English/Chinese, and English/Turkish.
The educational programs 6B01705 – Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages, 7M01703 – Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages, and 8D01702 – Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages were developed in accordance with the regulatory documents in the field of science and higher education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. They also take into account the Dublin Descriptors aligned with the European Qualifications Framework. The programs meet the requirements for the respective levels of higher professional and postgraduate education and include sections on general provisions, goals, content, learning outcomes, and resource support.
The uniqueness of the educational programs is reflected in the range of basic and major disciplines within the compulsory and elective components, which take into account students’ needs and meet the current demands of the labor market. The programs ensure real flexibility and variability of students’ educational trajectories and promote academic mobility through the use of the ECTS credit system and an extensive catalogue of elective courses. The curriculum includes such relevant disciplines as IT Technologies in Education, Digital Educational Resources, Innovative Technologies in Organizing the Educational Process at School, Inclusive Education, Innovative management and foreign language education, Key Competencies of a Foreign Language Teacher, Project Activity in Teaching Foreign Languages, The artificial intelligence in professional activities, Methods of Foreign Languages Teaching to Children with Special Education Needs, and Digital Technologies in Foreign Language Teaching.
According to their level of training, graduates of the Department are qualified to teach foreign languages in educational institutions, educational centers, and language schools; work as translators; engage in methodological or managerial activities within teacher professional development systems and education departments; and conduct research in higher education institutions and research organizations.
