RECIPIENTS OF STATE EDUCATIONAL GRANTS ANNOUNCED

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan has published the list of recipients of state educational grants for the 2026–2027 academic year. More than 75,000 applicants will have the opportunity to study free of charge at universities across the country.

The state educational order has been formulated taking into account the economy’s long-term demand for qualified professionals. Following the instruction of the Head of State, 60% of educational grants have been allocated to engineering and technical fields, which are currently crucial to the country’s industrial and technological development.

Particular attention has been paid to providing the regions with qualified professionals. As part of the Serpin project, more than 2,000 grant recipients will study at leading universities in northern, eastern and central Kazakhstan.

An educational grant is more than just an opportunity to receive higher education free of charge. It is the state’s investment in the future of the country and in every talented young person. This year, more than 75,000 applicants have been awarded grants. At the same time, the competition rules remained unchanged, ensuring transparency and fairness. We continue to expand opportunities for young people: today, students can earn degrees from leading international universities without leaving Kazakhstan. Grants are also available for study at branches of foreign universities and international higher education institutions operating in the country. This is another step towards making high-quality international education more accessible to the people of Kazakhstan.

In 2026, approximately 127,000 applications were submitted for the educational grant competition, which is 14,000 more than the previous year. The increase in the number of applications demonstrates the continued high demand for higher education funded under the state educational order.

All state support measures provided for by law have been maintained in the allocation of grants. These include quotas for applicants from socially vulnerable groups, grants awarded outside the general competition to winners of international academic Olympiads and major sporting competitions, as well as 1,816 grants for citizens who have completed compulsory military service.

The competition results are available on the official information resources of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Electronic certificates confirming the award of educational grants will be available within three working days on the website of the National Testing Center of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, grant.testcenter.kz. Enrollment at higher education institutions will continue through August 25, inclusive.
