Pursuant to the decision of the Board of Directors of the E.A. Buketov Karaganda University (Minutes No. 6 dated September 8, 2022) and the order of the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Rector, N.O. Dulatbekov (Order No. 1185 dated September 19, 2022), the Department of Sports-Pedagogical Disciplines was established.

The Department of Sports-Pedagogical Disciplines trains specialists for the fields of physical education and sports. The department offers a bachelor’s degree program. The curriculum includes such relevant disciplines as “Track and Field with Teaching Methods,” “Soccer with Teaching Methods,” “Basketball with Teaching Methods,” “Volleyball with Teaching Methods,” “Skiing with Teaching Methods,” “Active Games with Teaching Methods,” etc.

Graduates of the Department of Sports-Pedagogical Disciplines can teach in schools, colleges, and lyceums; work as coaches in sports organizations; and engage in research activities in the fields of education, sports, and physical culture. Students have access to modern sports halls equipped with state-of-the-art sports equipment, specialized lecture theatres, the academic library, and the university’s electronic resources. The department facilitates professional internships at the faculty’s facilities and the university’s training grounds. The department’s research interests focus on issues in sports education, the public promotion of healthy lifestyles, and training methodologies for physical education and sports instructors.
