Detailed information about the department of mechanics and robotics

History

The Department was established in 1997. Its first Head was Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor K.A. Tursunov. The Department has made a significant contribution to the training of specialists in mechanics and to the development of educational and methodological materials in the state language. In 2014, the Department became part of the Department of Algebra, Mathematical Logic and Geometry named after Professor T.G. Mustafin, and in 2026 it was re-established as an independent structural unit. The Department is currently headed by R.A. Kaiyrov, PhD, Associate Professor. The Department offers Bachelor’s degree programs in Mechanics and Robotics and Mechatronics, as well as Master’s and Doctoral degree programs in Mechanics. The Department has eight faculty members, five of whom hold PhD degrees. Its teaching and research laboratories are equipped with modern laboratory, robotics, and computer equipment. Faculty members carry out grant-funded research projects and undertake international research internships. Students participate in national and international Olympiads, research competitions, and conferences, where they regularly achieve prize-winning results. The main goal of the Department is to train highly qualified and competitive specialists proficient in modern technologies in mechanics, robotics, mechatronics, and computer modeling.
