Welcome to the Department of Foreign Languages

The history of the Department of Foreign Languages dates back to the founding of the university, when many lecturers began their academic careers and later formed the teaching staff of the Faculty of Foreign Languages in 1998. The department provides educational services to bachelor’s and master’s students of non-linguistic majors. Teaching is conducted in English, German, French, and Chinese in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Students trained by the department's faculty successfully represent the university at regional and national foreign language olympiads. The department’s research interests are focused on current issues in language education and the methodological support of foreign language training within the system of lifelong and professional education. The teaching staff pays great attention to developing a high-quality methodological base, continuing the creation of educational materials, including electronic resources, video lectures, and massive open online courses. Over the past ten years, more than 50 educational publications (textbooks, manuals, electronic programs) have been co-authored by the department's teachers, supplementing international teaching materials used in the learning process.
