Welcome to the department of organic chemistry and polymers

The Department of Organic Chemistry and Polymers trains specialists in modern chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical production technologies, offering bachelor's and master's programs. Students pursue "Chemistry and Chemical Engineering" and "Technology of Pharmaceutical Production" programs. The curriculum includes relevant subjects like "Modern Polymeric Composite Materials," "Computer Modeling in Organic Material Production," "Designing Modern Pharmaceutical Production," and "Production Technology of Medicinal Substances." Graduates can work at enterprises producing organic substances, polymers, dyes, and fuels; in oil, gas, coal processing, mining, and defense industries; in research and design institutes; in pharmaceutical organizations, pharmacies, standardization and certification bodies; in forensic centers; and in educational and social protection organizations. The department hosts four scientific circles: chemistry of organophosphorus and heterocyclic compounds; chemistry of polymeric materials; synthesis and study of polymers based on polyester resins; and development of drug delivery systems using micro- and nanoparticles. Scientific interests include the synthesis and study of new biologically active substances, heterocyclic compound chemistry, research of polyester resin-based polymers, and properties of "smart" materials.
