The Department of Physical and Analytical Chemistry trains specialists in chemistry, metallurgy, petrochemistry, and pharmaceutics. It offers multilingual education at bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels through "Chemistry" and "Fundamental Chemistry" programs. Students can choose between "Physicochemical Analysis" and "Physical and Computational Chemistry" trajectories. The curriculum includes relevant subjects like "Computational Nanotechnology in Chemistry," "Quantum Mechanics and Computational Chemistry," and "Molecular Design of Chemical Materials." Graduates can work in analytical, environmental, customs, sanitary-epidemiological, and certification laboratories; in scientific organizations (institutes, laboratories) of chemical, petrochemical, metallurgical, and pharmaceutical profiles; and in educational institutions. The department's scientific interests involve EPR spectroscopy, quantum chemistry of free radicals, physicochemical studies of chalcogenides, and quantum chemical studies of liquid crystalline compounds. The department has a computational chemistry laboratory that performs computer modeling and quantum chemical calculations of chemical compounds and reactions.
