About the department

Welcome to the department of methodology of teaching mathematics and informatics!

The department provides training for future teachers of mathematics and informatics based on modern educational and information technologies. Students can study along three educational tracks: “Mathematics,” “Mathematics-Informatics,” and “Mathematics-Physics.”
Within the first track, students study the following disciplines: Methods of Teaching Mathematics, Elementary Mathematics, Workshop on Solving Mathematical Problems, Workshop on Solving Non-Standard Problems, Fundamentals of Mathematical Literacy, and History and Methodology of Mathematics.
Within the second track, students master the disciplines Programming Technologies, Programming in Python, and Computer Graphics and Animation. The department also teaches information and communication technologies in English for all faculties of the university. Graduates can work in schools, lyceums, gymnasiums, colleges, technical and vocational education institutions, as well as in specialized organizations in the field of mathematics and informatics.
Within the third track of the educational program “Mathematics and Physics,” students study the disciplines Methods of Teaching Mathematics, Elementary Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, and Workshop on Solving Mathematical Problems. These disciplines contribute to the development of logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and analytical abilities of students.
The research interests of the department focus on the application of innovative technologies in teaching mathematics and informatics, as well as on the study of problem-solving methods and programming languages.
