Welcome to the department of methodology of teaching mathematics and informatics
The department trains future teachers of mathematics and informatics based on modern educational and information technologies. Students can choose between two learning trajectories: "Pedagogical Mathematics" and "Mathematics – Informatics". The first trajectory includes subjects such as "Methods of Teaching Mathematics", "Elementary Mathematics", "Workshop on Solving Mathematical Problems", "Workshop on Solving Non-standard Problems", "Basics of Mathematical Literacy", and "History and Methodology of Mathematics". The second trajectory covers "Programming Technologies", "Python Programming", and "Computer Graphics and Animation". The department also provides English-taught courses in Information and Communication Technologies across all university faculties. Graduates can work in schools, lyceums, gymnasiums, colleges, and institutions of technical and vocational education, as well as in organizations focused on mathematics and informatics. The department’s research interests include the application of innovative technologies in mathematics and informatics education, methods for solving mathematical problems, and programming languages.
