Welcome to the Department of Translation Theory and Practice

The Department of Translation Theory and Practice trains specialists in linguistics and translation studies under the bachelor's program 6B02301 – Translation Studies and the master's program 7M02303 – Translation and SMART Technologies in Linguistics. Training is conducted in two tracks: written/business translation and oral/professional translation. Students study practical phonetics, grammar, stylistics, syntax, and translation of scientific, legal, IT, and literary texts, as well as simultaneous interpreting. A second foreign language (German, French, Turkish, or Chinese) is mandatory starting from the second year. Graduates work as translators, editors, foreign language teachers, and specialists in international relations. The master's program focuses on training highly qualified professionals who combine traditional translation methods with SMART technologies. The department conducts research
